Parul Zaveri
Parul Zaveri co-founded Abhikram, meaning initiation in Sanskrit, an Architecture, Interiors, Conservation and Planning consultancy firm in 1979. She earned an architecture diploma from CEPT in Ahmedabad in 1978 and expanded her education by taking specialised courses under the Urban Settlement Design in Developing Countries programme at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts (USA), in 1975–1976. Additionally, she has worked with architect-philosopher Paolo Soleri at Arcosanti & at Cosanti Foundations in Arizona, U.S.A., to further her interests in alternative technologies, the use of solar energies, and recycling. She obtained the Fellowship from the Chicago Cultural Centre in 1995 and is the primary architect of Abhikram. She serves as a visiting professor at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad as well as the School of Interior Design at the Centre for Environment Planning and Technology (CEPT) University in Ahmedabad.

Summary:Speaking of their conservation projects, she details the systems they evolved and how they created research around it, after which she goes on to speak of the conservation policies they worked on for Ahmedabad. After sharing details of projects done in Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, she speaks of the exhibitions, conferences, and festivals they worked on. Speaking of their last decade in this profession, she notes how they did a lot of hospitality projects in this time, designed furniture as well, and recounts the story of how their house was re-designed and constructed.
