Parul Zaveri

Parul Zaveri co-founded Abhikram, meaning initiation in Sanskrit, an Architecture, Interiors, Conservation and Planning consultancy firm in 1979. She earned an architecture diploma from CEPT in Ahmedabad in 1978 and expanded her education by taking specialised courses under the Urban Settlement Design in Developing Countries programme at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts (USA), in 1975–1976. Additionally, she has worked with architect-philosopher Paolo Soleri at Arcosanti & at Cosanti Foundations in Arizona, U.S.A., to further her interests in alternative technologies, the use of solar energies, and recycling. She obtained the Fellowship from the Chicago Cultural Centre in 1995 and is the primary architect of Abhikram. She serves as a visiting professor at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad as well as the School of Interior Design at the Centre for Environment Planning and Technology (CEPT) University in Ahmedabad.
